The Borders of Scotland are situated to the south of the Scotland and as the name suggests they are on the border with England.
They landscape here is very different to the dramatic highlands, with rolling hills and green fields. It is an area often overlooked by visitors to Scotland but I think it is one of the most beautiful areas.
Known for it stunning historical Abbeys, the many conflicts with it's English neighbours and it's own unique culture, it is worth a visit being only an hour from Edinburgh.
Come and join me to hear how the the Scots and English battled over this border land for many centuries, how the Abbeys came to be here and what led to their demise, hear how the landscape inspired poets and writers such as Sir Walter Scott and explore the beautiful market towns that make this area popular today.
